Duke of Edinburgh - Getting Started

Monday 27th November, 6 p.m. This is a free meeting for young people (parents etc. welcome too on this occasion) interested in doing their Duke of Edinburgh's Award alongside other home-educators (+we can probably smuggle in a few school-educators who have friendship groups through our online classes). DofE is the most widely recognised extra-curricular activity for young people, and the expeditions section is a great way of creating and strengthening friendships while enjoying the outdoors. We have a Bronze and Silver expedition programme scheduled with our sibling company, Outspark on... Bronze/Silver Expedition Details - Save the Days! 31 May – 2 June - Training Day and Practice Expedition 27-28 July - Qualifying Expedition Bronze (26-28 July for Silver) Either the East Sussex area or in the Chilterns – we’ll confirm once we see where people are located. Bronze £349 for all five days, three nights. Silver £399 for all six days, three nights. ... but this meeting is open to all, whether you are intending to do your expeditions with us or not. You need to be 14+ years old to register for DofE Bronze, or at the least be turning 14 before 1st September 2024. For Silver, it's 15, and for Gold, 16. This meeting will cover everything you need to know to get started on your DofE journey. How to register for the Award with DofE Direct The three levels of the Award - Bronze, Silver and Gold. The four sections of the Award (Skill, Physical, Volunteering and Expedition) plus the extra residential section for Gold & some suggestions for what you could do. How to record what you've done so it counts for the Award. The expedition section - what you need to do, what we'll be offering, and other options available to you. We'll be able to answer any questions you have. They might be answered already over at www.p4he.org/dofe but the meeting will be a chance to get together and kickstart the first DofE Home Ed Cohort!

Cancellation Policy

Classes or Courses can be cancelled up to 24 hours before the start time. We cannot refund for missed individual sessions within a course. Classes or courses cancelled by P4HE or GIFT will be refunded as soon as practically possible.
