Debate Club Information

If you enjoy a good argument, come and join us at debate club. Our classes run on Debate Planet, the world's largest collection of debate motions. We built it ourselves. Schools all over the UK now use it for classroom debates, discussion lessons and oracy work. Here, you get to use it with the people who made it. Topics run from the silly to the serious, and our Motion Explorer lets you search them by subject. Take a sneaky peek at www.debateplanet.co.uk.

Each week we use the Motion Explorer to pick our subject. Those who want to speak then choose: for, against or on the fence. On the fence is our own invention. It means you can speak for, against, forgainst, or just ask questions that challenge the other speakers. Not all our speakers speak, either. Some prefer to contribute through the chat, and that counts just as much. It's more informal than traditional debating, and more fun. We're not trying to build an army of mini Boris Johnsons. We're here to bounce ideas off each other, on subjects from the silly to the serious, and often the seriously silly.
